1. After a sudden attempt at muscling out Americorps Insepctor General Gerald Waldin, Obama forced to issue 30 day formal notice of termination. It is thought that the Waldin, who is tasked with combating waste, fraud, abuse and ensuring that federal agency is held accountable for its actions, is being terminated for his investigations into prominent Obama supporters.
Awesome. More here.
2. As the medical industry, led by the American Medical Association, has finally begun their march towards combatting single payer national healthcare - (Rationing is bad) - Top aides to Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus have made it clear that any members of the medical community who deign to even so much as meet with republicans will be seen as enemies and hostile to the rainbows and unicorn agenda. This will result in total loss of voice on the issue as far as the current administration and congress are concerned.
Threats and Intimidation!?!?! Not in Obama's America. More here.
3. ...Obama pushes for Pay as you go budget funding laws.
How on earth could you do that? The only way I can think of is to raise tax--
Read it and weep.
Don't worry though, I'm just some uneducated backward libertarian hack. Nothing to see here - everything is going according to plan. Unicorns imminent.

Another week, another bankrupt car company, another slew of secured bond holders shafted by the US government. Who needs the protections the 5th ammendment to the constituion provides anyways? Its just some old document collecting dust...
Look for the Union label. That is, so long as you arent looking to infuse the U.S. economy with investment capital - if that is the case, stay the hell out cause you are gonna get raped by the socialist government of the USSA.

|Congressional Budget Office: Obama's Spendulus Will Actually Harm Economy; Doing Nothing is Preferab
||[05 Feb 2009|02:05pm]
Borrowed from Ace Of Spades
This one goes out to everyone in favor of throwing out 800-900 billion dollars in democrat special interest spending, because, hey - why not?
President Obama's economic recovery package will actually hurt the economy more in the long run than if he were to do nothing, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday.
CBO, the official scorekeepers for legislation, said the House and Senate bills will help in the short term but result in so much government debt that within a few years they would crowd out private investment, actually leading to a lower Gross Domestic Product over the next 10 years than if the government had done nothing.
CBO estimates that by 2019 the Senate legislation would reduce GDP by 0.1 percent to 0.3 percent on net. [The House bill] would have similar long-run effects, CBO said in a letter to Sen. Judd Gregg, New Hampshire Republican, who was tapped by Mr. Obama on Tuesday to be Commerce Secretary.

|i don't know about you but i am feeling HOPEY AND CHANGEY
||[20 Jan 2009|10:44am]
Awww yeah, it's the big day - my office? Doing work? I guess.. if you count watching tv in the kitchen or going across the street to the bar to watch the innauguration.
But hey, with all the HOPE and CHANGE in the air who can blame them?
It's allright though - I hope people enjoy it cause it is all downhill from here.
Unless, that is, I am wrong and Obama fixes humanity, the world, the financial industry, socializes the country and somehow manages to make me richer - at which point I will happily admit the utter wrongnes of my worldview.
Also, to the whole LETS PROSECUTE THE ENTIRE BUSH ADMINISTRATION CROWD... excuse me while I laugh my ass off. Not going to happen. If you really cared about politics and the success of your party and the ability to "cross the aisle" (yeah right) and you know, get stuff done - you wouldnt want your party spendings it's political oxygen on backwards facing vindictive and ultimately futile efforts.

|Bit Riot Catamazine is coming!
||[30 Dec 2008|11:21am]
That's right, the Bit Riot Records Catalog / magazin is coming in 09. 24 pages front to back of electronic rock, industrial dance and bit riot products. I am working on the layout and it will look like a mashup of outburn magazine (hope Octavia doesn't get mad) and the Victory Records Catalog (Tony Brummel is always mad).
The idea is to inspire people to not throw our catalog directly in the trash - instead they will hang on to it, check out the interviews and articles and then, maybe upon seeing one of our sweet $15 tshirt / Cd Combo's for the umpteenth time decide to buy something. In theory anyhow.
I am excited. If we can pull in advertisers there may even be a path to become an alternative free quarterly like Skinny in the Inland Empire. It should be glorious, especially if we can manage 2-4 issues a year :]

||[06 Nov 2008|07:18pm]
Yes, I am pessimistic about the next 4 years under Obama.
No, I am not ill-informed.
It's just that you don't agree with me.... Since you are obviously correct, that can only lead to the conclusion that I, have bad information, or else, you know, I would be right too!
It boggles my mind to see people who approach life from a position of moral relativity decry an opposing political position as ill informed (read: wrong) as if there is some how one truth in the world and only one solution to a given problem.
Maybe someone with some Philosophical leanings (Matt?) can give me a mini lecture on the nature of truth :]

|So, I guess it is the left's turn...
||[05 Nov 2008|09:54am]
And ultimately, I am A-OK with that.
I think that just like GWB, Obama is a good man and that just like GWB, he is going to make some really bone headed policy decisions.
I also think, it will be very healthy for the liberal democrats to learn first hand that all of the hopes, dreams and expectations that have been hoisted upon Obama are ultimately unattainable. Maybe there will be progress towards some goals - maybe some things will work out - but the truth is, Obama is just a man like any other president and he will not be anything close to perfect.
Honestly, I am more worried than ever about our country as the new punative socialist welfare state looms...
But I suppose, for today at least, I will allow myself to enjoy the general cheer among my peers.
This video goes out to you guys.

|Pretty interesting way to put it
||[29 Oct 2008|10:01pm]
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18..
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59..
So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve.
'Since you are all such good customers, he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.' Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes SO the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.
But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'
They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.
So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $50 instead of $59 (15% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before.
And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. 'I only got a dollar out of the $20,' declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, 'but he got $9!'
'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got nine times more than I!'
'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $9 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!' 'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor.'
The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.
The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!
And that is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction.
Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

|Liberal asshole youth protesters
||[22 Oct 2008|03:30pm]
Watching about 5 minutes of misguided white middle class youth protesting various political targets is enough to make me physically sick.
Note to potential protestors:
You don't live in a policed state.
If you did live in a policed state, you would be shot on the spot as opposed to being asked nicely repeatedly by a police officer to move.
Freedom of speech does not mean you get to do whatever you want and go wherever you want.
So long as there is an election process (no matter how rigged and fraught with groups like ACORN and corrupt OHIO officials), there will be a free and peaceful way to elicit change in our nation.
Your protests do not elicit sympathy, exposure or anything else positive. They mostly just polarize existing bases. Remember that next time you break some shit in the name of CHANGE.
I love gathering and it makes me happy to see political assembly. I am not happy to see people forego common decency in order to interrupt society. Don't storm on stage to make "citizens arrests", throw stones at and damage people's car, vandalize the signs in peoples yards, spray paint peoples buildings, take the signs out of old ladies hands and whack them in the face.
For that matter, don't shoot bears. wth.
My Russian born friends see all of this and find it ridiculous and sad. They have such low respect for these protestors and the way they try and compare the greatest country in the world to the hell that was communism.

|The wonders of working for an ad agency
||[26 Oct 2007|04:13pm]
Nestled deep in the heart of Chicago's advertising / meatpacking district lies our office, roughly 2 floors and 200 heads of the nations top creative talent devoted to cranking out concepts, media leveraged promotions and web advertising for fortune 500 companies too numerous to count... one might expect things to be all work and no play on a deadline friday - especially now that we are microsoftized - but as I speak, there is beer in all of the office fridges, the sound of cans cracking open, and people everywhere running around in costumes as we prepare to head out to excalibur for the company halloween party.
Good times :]
